TERM ARRANGEMENTS

I write to notify you of a change to the beginning of the new academic year. Due to several factors to do with building works and reorganisation, the College will open for all students on Tuesday 7 September at 8.30am, NOT at 10.30am on 6 September as previously published.

The construction work in the sports complex is due to complete at the end of August. This is a large project and changes the configuration of the area considerably. We will need time to commission the new changing facilities, including specialist/disabled changing and offices. We are also refurbishing 3 computer suites which will also need preparing for the new term. In addition to this, the recent and continuing government announcements regarding curriculum, procedures such as Safeguarding and withdrawal of capital funding programmes require specialist induction and detailed briefings for all staff (new and existing).

Please note that students will be dismissed at 1.00pm on 23 July 2010.

Thank you for your cooperation and I wish you and all your families a safe and relaxing summer.

Yours sincerely
Dr I Johnson
Principal
